About the sworn translation service
As from 1 January 2015, only sworn translators can make official translations from Estonian into a foreign language. A sworn translator is a public official who, like a notary, is empowered by the state to certify the authenticity of translated document copies and of information from public records.
In which language pairs do our sworn translators work?
We offer the sworn translator service in Estonian-English, Estonian-Finnish, Estonian-Russian, Estonian-Italian, Estonian-Spanish, Estonian-Swedish, Estonian-Latvian, Estonian-German, Estonian-Norwegian, Estonian-Lithuanian, German-Russian, Russian-English, Estonian-Polish, Estonian-Ukrainian, Portuguese-Estonian, Estonian-Dutch and Spanish-English.
Certificates for vital statistics, legal capacity to marry and population register extracts (except change-of-name certificates) are issued by the vital statistics office in Estonian, English, German and French.
